Nestled in the heart of Richfield, Wisconsin, Terrace 167 is a one-of-a-kind wedding venue that blends rustic elegance with modern charm. With reclaimed charm, industrial touches, and a warm, inviting ambiance, our venue sets the perfect stage for your "I do" moment. But before the big day arrives, there’s one key event to get right: your wedding rehearsal.

A well-organized rehearsal ensures your ceremony runs smoothly and stress-free. Here’s a step-by-step guide to preparing for your walk down the aisle.

Rehearsals with Terrace 167
If a ceremony is booked at Terrace 167, your one-hour time slot for rehearsal is included. The date and time is finalized at your Final Details Meeting, scheduled on a first come first serve basis, on a Tuesday - Thursday, if there is no previously scheduled event the day before. Rehearsals are run by yourself and/or the officiant. Keep in mind that availability may vary, especially during peak seasons, and make note to coordinate this at your Final Details Meeting for your date and time.

Pro Tip: Schedule your rehearsal early enough in the day to leave time for a rehearsal dinner or welcome gathering afterward.

Finalize Your Ceremony Details
To run an efficient rehearsal, have planned how the ceremony will unfold.

This includes:
Order of processional and recessional
Who walks with whom
Timing of music cues
Location of key ceremony elements (e.g., unity candle, arch, aisle runners)
Readings or special performances

Work with your Officiant, Planner, or Day-of Coordinator to iron out the ceremony timeline in advance.

Communicate with Your Wedding Party
Send your wedding party (and anyone participating in the ceremony) a clear rehearsal invitation. Include date and time, location (Terrace 167’s exact address), dress code, and expected duration (usually 30–45 minutes).

Invite attendees 15 minutes early so you can start on time.

Bring the Right People
Your rehearsal should include:

The full wedding party (bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, ring bearers)
Officiant
Parents or VIP family members
Ushers and readers

Step 5: Walk Through the Ceremony
Now for the fun part—rehearsing! Your coordinator or officiant will lead everyone through each part of the ceremony.

Line Up for the Processional
Determine the walking order and spacing

Walk the Processional
Practice walking slowly, smiling, and pausing at the right marks. The Terrace 167 staff can help guide spacing and timing

Position at the Altar
Show everyone where to stand during the ceremony. Factor in symmetry for photos and personal comfort

Run Through the Ceremony Highlights
Do a quick walkthrough of readings, vow exchange, ring ceremony, and any special rituals.

Practice the Recessional
Exit in the same pairs/order and walk at a celebratory pace. Don’t forget to smile!

Ask Questions & Make Adjustments
This is the perfect time to clarify any last-minute questions about timing, cues, or logistics. Your rehearsal is also the time to:
Test the music timing with the DJ or musician
Practice microphone use (if needed)
Confirm where people should stand and enter
Check with venue staff about rain plans or accessibility

Wrap Up & Prep for the Big Day
Once you’ve rehearsed once (or twice, if needed), thank everyone for their time. Hand out any important items like:

Schedules for the wedding day
Vendor contact lists
Gifts for the wedding party (optional but traditional)

Encourage everyone to get a good night’s sleep—they’ll need it!

Host a Rehearsal Dinner Nearby
Richfield and nearby towns like Germantown and Menomonee Falls offer cozy spots for a post-rehearsal dinner. Consider local favorites or private dining options to keep the celebration going. Ask our Terrace 167 staff for recommendations— we know the area well!

Your wedding rehearsal at Terrace 167 is more than a run-through—it’s the calm before the beautiful storm. With its warm ambiance and experienced staff, this venue offers the ideal setting to bring your ceremony to life before the big day. Follow these steps, stay organized, and you’ll set the stage for a wedding day that flows effortlessly from “walk down the aisle” to “first dance.”
